Crack Monitoring

Most reinforced concrete building components crack to some extent during their service life. Usually these cracks are controlled by design and are of little consequence. But in some cases, these cracks may be the first indication of a serious defect. Monitoring the changes in crack width across a crack helps to determine the cause of cracking and to decide what remedial work should be specified.

MatterLab has facilities for on- site crack width development monitoring for both horizontal and vertical movement across cracks.

We generally apply any of the following methods for monitoring the crack width development:

Settlement Monitoring

Settlement monitoring is very important to evaluate the possible problems and risks associated with ground displacement on a surface or underground construction. Settlement monitoring is a useful tool generally used in the fields of tunneling, embankments, dams, deep excavations, retaining walls, foundations and buildings which may be impacted by possible differential settlement.

MatterLab has the facility to carry out settlement monitoring using the most high-end settlement monitoring instrumentation.
